I have become fascinated by the mushroom world. Before we went on the mushroom foray in early September I would have never classified this as a mushroom. It is a fluted white Helvella or more specifically a Helvella (Latin for small vegetable) crispa (Latin for curled). It grows in damp, cool spots in Boreal mixed forests. It is said to be edible but should never be eaten raw.

Would you eat this?
