On our mushroom foray we came across this interesting fungus specimen which according to mushroomexpert.com is a Tremella mesenterica.  Our guide on the foray immediately identified it as witches butter. The log it was growing on was laying on the ground suggesting this fungus grows on dead wood.

Orange butter?
