We just spent a few days with the Mycological Society of Alberta gathering mushrooms in the Hinton area. It was a wonderful opportunity and the amount we learned was tremendous. I will never be able to walk through the bush or a field again without looking for the fruit of fungi. This Rusty-gilled polypore is from the genus Gloeophyllum and is quite destructive in man-made structures because it can live on in dry wood.
