I thought this was a bee until I did a little research. It seems this fellow is a Hover Fly. I am not usually a friend of flies but this fly consumes vast quantities of insects such as aphids, thirps, and small caterpillars. He also pollinates flowers and its the babies that eat the aphids. Notice he has only 2 wings and very short antennae, that makes him a fly instead of a bee.
