We came across this woodpecker that I suspect is a Red-breasted Sapsucker. I am intrigued by the design he has carved in the tree, quite a bit more elaborate than the holes that the woodpecker had in the birch tree that I posted June 3rd. We saw a hummingbird near this tree as well perhaps a tribute to the efficiency of the woodpecker.
