I love to watch the white-breasted nuthatch foraging. The family we have here is comfortable enough to eat right out of the feeder on the window this year. Did you know these birds use foot power alone to grasp the trunck of a tree, and upside down no less.  Most birds use their tail to brace themselves against the tree trunk.  According to my ‘Birds of Alberta’ book we aren’t suppose to have white-breasted nuthatches here. Someone forgot to tell this guy.

Upright for now
